Admissions for 2021-2022 School Year

Admission policies regarding age for children entering Trinity Catholic will be the same as those for the Oswego City School District and NYS regulations. Children entering Kindergarten must be five (5) years of age on or before December 1 of that year. Children entering first grade must be six (6) years of age on or before December 1 of that year.

Parents of all new students must submit the following:

  • Child’s birth certificate or legal verification of the child’s birth
  • Proof of immunization against DTP, measles, polio, rubella, mumps, HEP-B, and varicella (chicken pox)
  • Baptismal certificate, if Catholic

Admission will be denied, according to State Law, to children who have not been immunized unless they are exempt under the provisions of the law for medical or religious reasons.

Applications for admission are available in February of every year.

Application Forms and Fees

Each application must include a nonrefundable application fee of $150. Please note that these fees are per child. No application will be processed until all fees are paid. If the application form is received by March 20, 2021(K-6) or April 1st (PreK), the application fee will be deducted from the amount of tuition owed. After that date, the application fee will be in addition to the full tuition amount. A SMART tuition agreement must also be completed before the application can be processed.

Tuition Assistance

Tuition Assistance is available only for students in Kindergarten through Sixth Grade.  For the 2020-21 school year, 70% of our students received assistance in some form.  There are two sources of assistance:

Tuition Assistance Program (TAP):  This is Diocesan tuition assistance for Catholic School Education funded by the Hope Appeal.  It is based on financial need.  Tuition assistance forms are available at all Catholic Schools and at the Diocesan Catholic School Office.  Forms must be completed for financial aid consideration and submitted by Feb 15th, 2021 for the 2021-2022 school year.

Trinity Catholic School’s Annual Fund: These are school based awards that are given to students in Kindergarten through Sixth Grade based on need, academic achievement and family volunteer service.  The Annual Fund Scholarship Committee is aware of the financial burden on families with more than one child attending Trinity Catholic School.  Applications for these scholarships are available with the admission packets.  Awards are made in June for the following year.

Transfer Procedures

Students wishing to transfer to Trinity Catholic School must first meet with the Principal.  We will review academic and discipline records as well as schedule a meeting with our reading coordinator.  Admission will be based on the results of this initial screening and a review of the records.  Acceptance indicates the expectation that the new student will meet both the academic and conduct standards at this school.
